In the midst of rising instances of Covid-19 and Omicron variation, the Delhi government on Tuesday chose to authorize the 'yellow' alarm of the Graded Response Action Plan in the city. Here is the rundown of what will be permitted and what will not be.

Due to an increase in Covid cases and Omicron infections in the national capital, the Delhi administration has decided to impose the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP'yellow' )'s alert in the city. In a discussion on the Covid situation in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a raft of measures aimed at limiting the virus's spread.

The national capital operates under a night curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

WHAT WILL BE ALLOWED UNDER THE NEW RULES?

  • Shops and malls with non-essential services or goods will remain open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. under the odd-even rule.
  • Construction will go on as usual, and the industry will stay open.
  • Restaurants will open with half-capacity from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., while bars will open with half-capacity from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • The hotels will remain open, but the banquet and convention facilities will be shut down.
  • The Delhi Metro will have a 50% seating capacity.
  • Buses traveling from one state to another will have a 50% seat capacity.
  • In an auto, e-rickshaw, cab, or cycle rickshaw, only two passengers are permitted.
  • Salons and beauty salons will be open as usual.
  • Weddings and funerals will be limited to a maximum of 20 individuals.
  • Places of worship will be affected.

WHAT IS NOT PERMITTED

  • Multiplexes and movie theatres will be closed.
  • Auditoriums and banquet halls will be closed.

Spas, gyms, yoga studios, and amusement parks will be closed.

  • Schools, colleges, educational institutions, and coaching institutes will all be closed for the day.
